Make sure your pool is OK for swimming in under half a minute. Remember if pH is not in the OK range, or if your chlorine levels are too high it can hurt eyes and irritate skin.

Trouble Shooting
Sometimes a pool can have pH so low (acidic) or high (alkaline) that it will overpower the test strip. If all the colours are very faint when you test it is most likely very low pH, if they are all incredibly bright then it is most likely very high.
If you have one of these situations get a sample of the water from your pool and add the same amount of water to it from your tap then test the mix.
This may help to give you a reading on the strip, if it confirms that your pH is either too high or too low then adjust that first before considering other chemicals.
To make that adjustment use the reading from your mix and calculate a pH adjustment only using that. Adjust your pool waters pH and then test again before making any other/further adjustments.
